Murmur Privacy
This privacy page is an early draft and should be reviewed properly before it's treated as final.
Getting the download
If you enter your email to download Murmur, the download starts immediately in your browser. That email address (and name, if given) is stored to also send you a copy of the download link and occasional updates. This site's honeypot field aside, nothing else is collected through that form.
Product privacy promise
Murmur is private, local-first dictation on Mac. Speech recognition, cleanup, and rewriting all run on-device; the only network requests the app itself makes are one-time model downloads. Murmur is also open-source under the MIT license — the full source, including exactly what it does and doesn't send over the network, is on GitHub.
This website
murmurmac.com uses GoatCounter for basic, cookieless visit analytics (pages viewed, rough location, referrer) — no personal profiles, no cross-site tracking.
